Some of my images in use:)
I rececntly found some of my images on the Internet and wanted to share with you the results of my search. Click “Continue Reading” to learn more about what I found and how to search for your own images:
Some time ago I read a nice article by Anna Volkova about Google Images service and was nicely surprized how fascinating Google is:)
For those who don’t know yet, but want to find your own illustrations in use, go to Google Images (note, that the search field you see in the beginning isn’t the one you need):
Open the second window of your browser with your image and simply drag the illustration to the search field, which says “Drop Image here”:

As a result you will have a number of websites exposing this image. Of course you will see your Shutterstock or iStockphoto pages there, but there also will be some unfamiliar places, yay! :)
Despite some exciting news I got from the search I found some really frustrating websites that sell some of my images under somebody else’s copyright. After contacting the support of some of the websites, the images were removed from database, although some of them neither replied to me, nor removed the image.. Made me really sad:

Here are some more of the results, Magic Stickers (was not liscened from Shutterstock or iStock to be able to resell like this though):

And a few book covers:

There were loads of images used just to illustrate articles or for avatars, but I decided not to post them in here:)
Anyway, I am very happy to see my images in use:)

Hey Anastasiia,
can you explain that search thingie a little bit more, because i was trying and trying but it doesn’t work.
Where do you need to get the imagefile that you want to search for. Just out of an other page or by open file in your browser?
If i do that and drag this to google, i just get the place the image is found on my computer. I am totally confused.
Great post by the way, i thiink it is great to see other people use your images. Offcourse only in the right way. I don’t understand those uncreative people who just steel your images and make them their own :( hoppefully there will be a good solution for this.

Thank you very much Sanne! I am happy you like the post.
About the image search:
-make sure you go to http://www.google.com/imghp (google images), not Google itself;
-when you drag the image, do not drag into a search line, but into a box below which says “Drop here” (this box appeares after you start dragging).
I will change now the screen-shots, maybe it will be clearer. Tell me if it works, Sanne, ok?
thx again:) Anastasiia
