This week’s tip is Experiment With Your Style.

Trying different styles in the beginning of your microstock activity will help to determine for you the direction of what works for you best.

Try to draw the series of images of the very same concept in different styles; analyze then which style sells better. Sometimes a few series will work pretty well. In this case just do all of them, which will both develop your artistic skills and increase the number of vectors in your portfolio.

In my case, when I found out that the illustrations of rockets appear to be quite popular among my images, I tried drawing them in absolutely different styles:

In the end the retro style was the most popular one, which determined the style for the next series of the rockets and spacecraft images, that sell fairly well now:
